Visit the Botanical Garden of Deshaies

Discovery of the tropical flora in Guadeloupe!

Adjoining the Hummingbird Garden, the Botanical Garden of Deshaies offers you a peaceful stroll of around 1h30 through the surprising flora of the West Indies! This 7-hectare park designed by Michel Gaillard is the former property of Coluche .
Let yourself be guided by the scents and colors of the tropics: porcelain rose, red ginger, bougainvillea, hibiscus, orchids and many other magnificent flowers dot your route.

You will learn to recognize them and botany will no longer hold any secrets for you! Obviously, birds are also attracted to these marvels, you can photograph hummingbirds, sugar bowls but also lorises, small parrots that will even come to rest on your shoulder!

This course also allows you to distinguish palm trees, traveller's trees, coconut palms... but also the trees of the deep tropical forest: the acomat will impress you with its roots higher than you!
We'll let you discover elephant ears, very green ones!

The goats, parrots and koi carp are already looking forward to your distribution of food, don't forget to take 50ct coins with you to buy the picnic for these voracious people!

If you want to have lunch on site, beware, the cheese maker or the sausage tree are actually trees! So prefer the snack bar or the restaurant which will offer you a panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea!
