For the Tarzan in you...

Some ideas for river walks to discover the Guadeloupe forest..

For adventurers only!
… The mountainous terrain of Basse-Terre is home to many wonders that deserve to be visited, well equipped and in dry weather! From trails in the heart of the tropical jungle of the national park to dizzying waterfalls, Basse-Terre will charm you and show you life in... Green!

A few minutes walk to the Cascade aux Ecrevisses , on the Route de la Traversée . An easy walk suitable for everyone, it is certainly the most popular waterfall in the archipelago (but by far the most grandiose).

A few hours for the Moreau Falls , a series of waterfalls whose main big jump is more than 100m high! Located in the town of Goyave , allow around 2 hours 15 minutes of walking. We won't tell you any more and let your adventurous soul discover this magical place...

The Saut de la Lézarde (Petit-Bourg) , a chaotic path but a reward worthy of the efforts made..! The dense and lush vegetation will make you feel like you're in a movie set! And why not stop at the Brasserie de la Lézarde on the way back? After the effort, comfort yourself and enjoy a good local beer made on site in a super nice setting!

The famous Carbet Falls are among the most impressive waterfalls in the Lesser Antilles! With a renovated path, only the third waterfall is not accessible. Thrills guaranteed in front of these walls of water!

The Chute du Galion in Saint-Claude is accessible after a 1h15 hike from Bains-Jaunes. It falls 40m high, at the foot of Soufrière. Less visited than the Carbet Falls, it remains an essential place for river walk enthusiasts. Perfect hike with children. Downhill on the way out and uphill on the way back, the last 100m before the waterfall is done using a rope. Swimming there is super nice and on a clear day, you can see the Saintes along the way.

Near Pointe-Noire , just a few minutes from your Ecolodge, the Saut d'Acomat flows into a real bathtub with emerald green water. Easy to access, it is a place popular with young people who love thrills and jump from 9m into this splendid pool (be careful of the falls though and don't dive! There are rocks at the bottom!).

In Sainte-Rose , 20 minutes from the Jardin des Hummingbirds, you will find the Saut des Trois-Cornes . Easy hike lasting 3 hours, you will encounter gigantic trees on your way. Picnic at the foot of the waterfall and on the way back and rinse off by taking a shower at the Sulfur Source of Sofaïa (natural source of sulfur water traditionally used by the locals who will tell you that this water naturally heated to 30 degrees has virtues especially for the skin).

And finally, we are going to share with you a little secret, that of the Cascade des Hummingbirds , known to no one and that's good! Come see us at reception to find out how to get there but shhh…. to preserve this place, still unknown to the general public, it will be necessary to keep it a secret!
